The more I’m a merrier me
The waves have calmed and a sense of balance is achieved.
Now, aware of this delicate situation, I float along in my boat. A sad excuse of a boat, really, because technically, it’s a life raft, one of those yellow rubber inflatable types. Cheap raft or not, I’m not drowning which is what matters. But from bitter experience, I know that Life is unpredictable, so I float along precariously.
And then, there appears a shark. The shark is probably three or four meters. One casual bump might send this flimsy two meter life raft overboard. The shark brushes the raft. The raft rocks a bit, but it’s okay. Two hours later, no comfort. The shark is still circling. There’s still vertigo, excessive clumsiness; I struggle to search for words, recent memories.
The mayday call has been sent. Now, I wait.
